Maybe a 50 series, not a 40. I had a 40 on my old 4.2 and at idle is was much deeper.

it sounds really good to me, ive just never actually known what it was.

then again camera doesnt do justice at all you know?

edit: i have a ten inch subwoofer connected to my computer speakers and when i turn it down its night and day difference in the deepness. if you have a subwoofer listen to it with it connected to get a better quality sound.

My old truck with a SI/DO flow 40 sounded identical to a V8 straight piped at idle. WOT was a different story

Thumbs up

Last week while at my local dealer getting my oil changed, one of the techs started his 06 4.2 F150.I thought it had either a 4.6 or 5.4 in it,from the sound of the exhaust. He said he installed the muffler from a Mach 1! That thing sounded just like a V8! He is going to ask his exhaust guy if he gets another Mach 1 in for an exhaust swap to save the Mach 1 muffler for me!

One of the techs over at my dealer did this to his '02 V6 F150... sounds impressive and v8ish.

He did the whole dual setup off a Mach 1 with the pipes, muffler, and everything. He just did a few mods to it... but it worked great. And it's a genuine Ford part too.

im new to this site!!! i am 17 years old and i own a 98 4.2L well just read my signiture. not two weeks ago i upgraded the 1 3/4 inch into three inch tips exhaust, into to a 2.5 inch into 4 inch tips exhasut. best 300 bux i have ever spent on the pickup. it sounds sweet... well not like a V8 but its darn close. it sounded like a pissed of weedeater before with the dual 1/34 inch pipes. now it has a more deeper tone. it is quiter though casue i put an arvin 2in 2 out cherrybomb on it... it makes it quiter but it snds alot better when you rev it up... it snds more clean if you know what i mean. and it looks awesome too... i want to figure out how to put a clip of it on here but i dont know how. can anyone help... all i have is a cell phone that will take a 15 second video is all.

welcome im 16 lol nice to have someone my age.

to make a clip, you would have to first film it, load it to your computer then upload it to a website like youtube or photobucket.

then you would just simply paste the url and let people navigate to the video.

IMO, don't use your cell phone. it will sound terrible
