yes a CAI intake creates rumble under the hood, but also its creating better flow like i said givin a better exhaust sound, slightly. he wasnt askin about the under the hood sound. so just in theory if you had a sound barrier between the under hood sound and the exhaust sound so you could only hear the exhaust it would have slightly a better tone. The increased airflow also causes more airflow though the cats thus better sound... in theory shouldnt it? GLC i know you know quite a bit of this so let me know and if thats not how it works please explain it better i might be miss leading myself. This makes sence to me but i might be mistaken?

To modify any exhaust sound you need to modify the exhaust. A lower restriction intake doesn't increase airflow enough to have any effect on the exhaust.

You showed us how horrible it sounds when you do that. We heard your brakes more than your exhaust.

Ok that makes sence i can understand that. Now he already has a exhaust (i think).

The CAI is just not pulling much more air than stock to make the exhaust noticeably louder.

What does a F.I. setup like TJ03150 sound like (exhaust) should be nice. Maybe he can make a video. and im geussing he guns the 3" pipe all the way to the back and out, or does it go though a high flow cat?

Flowmasters will hurt your low end torque.

I have one that is dumped after the muffler, I think it sounds good in the low RPMs. The muffler itself is located so far back toward the axle that it doesn't really drone that much, its actually not that noticable in the cab. I bought the truck from a friend who already had the flowmaster on so Im not sure what the low end torque was like before it though...
