Supercharger?

I have a 97 f-150 v6 of course and i was wondering if anyone on here has put an supercharger off of the thunderbird super coupes onto the 4.2l? and if so what all is needed from the supercoupe to make the swap and what will have to be fabricated

Actually... there is a super charger made for the 4.2l v6... but I dunno how it is.

from what ive heard around other sites and a little hear the charger will hurt mpg but does put up impressive numbers for a v6!

it will hurt mpg if stay on the go go pedal thats for sure but if you drive like a grandma youll prolly seem some kinda gain...

yeah that is true but how many people drive like grandma that pay the money for a supercharger.... haha im sure there some out there though

yea i would stay in the pedal alot, my mpg can only get so bad

for these engines a supercharger takes too much power to make power.

a turbocharger seems to be a bit more efficient for a 4.2l v6.

however... there is an adapter plate for the v6 to put an eaton m90 or m112 im not sure which.. i think its the m112...

yep supersixmotorsports has an adapter plate for the m112 but its like 900 bucks...

i was thinkin about turbochargin my v6 but ive got to find a good price for someone to do it! my mechanic will not charge me much at all but he has to look into it

What kinda power is the supercharger putting out?

this is just a educated geuss but ive heard something like 330hp 360 tq.. 7psi of boost with stock internals...

now in my opinion thats gonna put you transmission and axles in alot of stress!

sorry thats Turbocharger numbers

i wouldn't say that high...
more in the 250ish range depending on other mods

Yeah, the 4.2L has alot of potential, just needs a lot of stuff to bring it all out.
