Magnaflow or Flowmaster

Hey guys, from what I have read, most people like magnaflow better than flowmaster, but I have also heard magnaflow has a hollow tone on a v6. What do you guys with a v6 out there recommend? Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

definately search in the v6 section-also visit v6f150.com. the guys on that site use magnaflow or imco extreme mufflers. most people think flowmaster loose low end torque which our v6's dont need any of that

I have a si/do cherry bomb extreme (aka imco). I like it and think it sounds good for a v6. My old setup was a si/do 50 series flowmaster. It was ok but pretty quiet. If i was you my choice would either be magnaflow or cherry bomb extreme depending on if you want it quite or louder.

I had a flowmaster 40 series on my 97, it sounded great actually, for a six much like an 8, si/do with exit in front of the rear tire.

from the seat of the pants method, i didnt notice the loss in low end. thats because the engine had 180k on it anyways, so it wasnt in prime condition. it got BEAT, bad.

I am running a fake flowmaster 40 muffler on my v6. I dont notice any lower end loss. Its not that loud but it does sound better than stock. I am going to be putting a marnaflow tip on it next month. I will most likly go w/ the 3in or 3 1/2 in. tip at the stock exit location. I was told it should sound loader that way. Good luck Ben

I got a siso flowmaster 50. Didn't notice any loss or gain in power, but a little in the mpg's. I just did it for the flowmaster tone. Its quiet at idle, and then you start to really hear it at 2000rpm.

Ive been debating to replace it with a super 44 or a little round 12" long magnaflow muffler. It would still be siso, but I would put the tip in front of the rear tire instead of the stock location.
