Angry 4.2L Jasper gone bad

I may have to take back all my praise of my Jasper replacement motor. Apparently I’ve blown a head gasket. Antifreeze is low. I see antifreeze next to the front drivers side sparkplug. I think I hear an exhaust leak around the head. Motor sounds terrible on top in the front. Also sounds like it is backfiring through the intake when you give it gas. Please say this is just a head gasket. The backfiring and noise on the top of the motor has me wondering if something else has happened. Will have it towed to the mechanic on Monday. This happens seven months after my three year warranty runs out.

It's my understanding that this is a design issue with the 4.2, not necessarily a rebuild issue.

The 4.2 "does not" have a design issue with the head gaskets! The 97s and some of the 98s had lower intake and timing cover gasket issues!
