best sounding glass pack??
yeah eh!
yea, i have a 99 4.2 v6 as well, the best sounding muffler, as well as one of the best preforming(in my opinion, feel free to argue) is the FLIWMASTER, i have alot of friends w/ them, im still working on some bigger tyres, but if i ever replace the exhaust deff flowmaster.
dont bother
as for blow throug on a 4.2, dont bother, glass packs like chetty bombs or other blow throughs make the truck sound rickety, but some people like them better because there good and loud, but yea, stick w. magnaflow or flow master dual exhayse, cant go wrong.
Maybe a Flowmaster sounds good to you, but it will drone badly in the cab and will cause you to lose low end torque - which a V6 doesn't need. Magnaflows and Gibsons don't have these issues. It's hard to find an exhaust that won't make a V6 sound like a ricer with a fart can.
My only disappointment with my V6 truck is that I'd like to have some exhaust note, but no way I'm driving a full-sized american truck with rice popping out the back!

I have a flowmaster 50 siso and it sounds really good. Its not loud and no drone, but you can hear it well.
I don't understand why you think it would be ricey? Most rice motors are under 2L. Its not going to sound like an engine half its size. The chambered mufflers will give it a deeper tone than the packed mufflers.

Man, dont put glass packs on your truck. IMO thats like sticking a bench wing on the back of a dodge neon. Besides, from my observation, the stock muffler is probably the best to have on, performance wise. Its not back pressure you need to worry about, its more on the lines of velocity. Like stated above, there is almost no such thing as torque in the v6 so I wouldnt even screw with it.
