Love my XCAL2. Check out the Chips\Programming section for some good info on it.

Did you end up going with a tune that requires you to use premium fuel or just regular octane? An xcal2 is probably going to be my next mod too. I'd like to stay with regular octane fuel but I don't know what kind of performance I can expect to gain from that.

From what I hear, *any* tune regardless of octane can be iffy on 87. Listen very carefully for ping or detonation.

My 87 mpg tune doesnt work at all. So I have my 87 tow and 91 performance.
I get the same MPG just the price differance for performance is about $.25 more a gallon.

Hinged side of passenger door on the cab. On my 04 it's the only sticker there.

I have a 2003 v6 4.2 and i just got a lift and new 35's and re gearing to 456. I think I may dish out the extra money on a tuner to fix my speedo. I reallyonly plan on buying the cheaper 87 gas. is it worth gettting a tuner then. So far the only one that I have found which will fit my truck is the Jet performance tuner. Any ideas?

Thanks

go to vmp tuning those guys are good when it come to the v6. i would get the xcal 2 and email them all your mods and they'll make the tunes for you. on mine i have a nitrous, all motor and econo tunes and i love them. only prob with the programer or any chip is that your truck will run alittle warmer, but as long as you dont decide to run it really rich or advance the spark to much or any drastic like that, it should be ok.

Would getting a programmer be worth it though if I'm just going to be buying the cheapest gas? Do you have to buy the good gas in order for a programmer to show noticeable difference?

no they can make all the tunes for 87 if you want. you prob wont feel as big of a difference, but you'll feel it.
