i just got my truck and it is a 2006 f150 4.2 5 speed and i am looking to get a little better sound outa my truck the cheapest way possible and in my county we do have emision testing i was thinking about just buying a flowmaster original 40 and just having my local muffler shop cut the stock muffler off and weld the flowmaster in using the stock pipes

That is the cheapest way to make it loud, but you will lose low end torque and it will drone in the cab. Think Magnaflow, doing it the same way. I did exactly that with a Flopro VForce.
