2003 4.2l Speed Control aka cruise control

So I installed an OEM cruise control kit on my 03 F150. All went well with the exception that it doesnt work. After completing the install, I start my truck and it immediately revs upwards of 2k rpm and continues idling that high.

Anyone have a clue what could be the issue? I'm thinking two things:

A) I have to have the computer re-programmed (instructions said nothing about it)

or
B) I have a faulty/wrong relay, servo, etc..

Can anyone assist me...

Thanks

Either the servo cable is pulling on the accelerator linkage due to mis-adjustment, or you've introduced a big vacuum leak.

Disconnect the servo cable and see if your idle is corrected. If it does, look at the servo cable mounting and adjustment.

see my thread below. I did the same thing, I made the cable a little longer by moving the end at the throttle body and reglueing it. I got the idle down to where it should be. No one gave any advice yet on this. But then..... see link https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...cruise+control
