cold start high idle
cold start high idle
Greetings all,,
a couple issues here on my 2001 f-150 4.2 5sp. man., 1st, on a cold start
after sittting over nite, the initial idle goes way up for about 10 secs. then
drops down to the norm high idle for a cold start. This must be a killer on the on the engine, having all the oil still in the pan. I have replace the IAC
valve to no avail. Now this only happens in the cold weather, say below
40 degrees???, in the summer, it never happens.
2nd. Have a slight odor of coolant after driving, no leaks, no coolant loss,
no apparent visible reason. Have been checking coolant level daily,
and its ok???
Has anyone had these or similar issues?
thanks,
Feenster
