I've been trying to find that out too - the consensus seems to be to get your boot out of the firewall.

Make sure to throw the whiskey in the tank, cause if you throw it in your stomach, Your Fuel Mileage will be cut in half!!! Hehe And on top of that end up stuck somewhere.

Clean your MAF with CRC MAF cleaner [read the instructions first]. Change 02 sensors if they have not been changed in 60000 miles. New PCV if it has not been changed [check the hose for holes on PCV]. Clean EGR ports in the throttle body. Check tire pressure. Watch your right foot! Naturally plugs and wires. Oh yea, make sure air filter is clean.

remove foot from gas pedal. ok maybe not as funny as the smiley makes it.

CAI, programmer, electric fans, and if your really worried about it go to 3.08 gears if they were not stock.

and with the above you should be good for better mpg.

ive got a k&n drop in filter and i have noticed better gas mileage..the difference when you accelerate is so much better....or if you want to spend more money get an air intake system

All I've done so far is a K&N dropin and a low restriction muffler (which was half the price of a stock muffler). I'm planning on switching all lubes to Amsoil synthetics. I'm looking at spark plug and wire options (in another thread) because I've got 62k miles on the originals. I can't justify the expense of an intake and/or a tuner/chip, the price of these things will buy a lot of gas. I'm the type of person that replaces parts with upgraded parts when it's time to change them anyway. Keep your tire pressures up.

I wonder if a bug deflector would help or hurt drag - or have no effect? I'm thinking about one of those just to keep the windshield cleaner.

Exclamation

Remove any excess weight you are carrying around.Keep the tires inflated properly.Don't accelerate quickly from stops.Slow down when driving on the interstate.Avoid excessive idling.Keep the engine tuned up correctly.Fill up when the temperature outside is the lowest.

Question

Something to do with the air being denser and the molecular structure to where you are getting more gas then if it were hot.
Any scientist out there care to chime in?

I complain too. My 4.6 Expy with 210K miles gets better mileage than my V6 F150 with 12K. Hell my Stang gets better even when I run the hell out of it.
