Basic upgrade

Im new to the forum and have probably a already answered question. But anyways here is goes. I have a 02 4.2 v6 F-150. Not to proud of the the six but i was wonderin what are some basic upgrades to preform on it. It is currently stock and i do no towing. Any ideas will be appreciated.

to list a few....

a cold air intake would be a nice addition. Some new gears would help with some torque but they are pricey. My favorite mod by far on my 4.2 is the XCAL2 (custom tuning).... made a huge difference in performance. Another mod to get some HP is exhaust although I personally am still a little worried about how performance exhaust will sound on a V6 but once my exhaust wears out I'm gonna try the Magna Flow set up.

exhaust on these trucks should sound half way decent. my friend has the v6 silverado and flowmaster exhaust and it sounds nice (aside from the busted hanger). the top end does get a little raspy though. other than that not too bad.
