Tuner for a V6

Hi, I am a newbie. I have a 2003 4.2L V6 and am pondering getting a tuner or chip. Has anyone here got a Xcal, jetchip, or any other programmer for their 6? How well does in perform.

I've got the XCAL2 on my 02 4.2 and I love it. I got it to correct my speedometer and get some "umph" back after I put on 33" tires. It really transformed the trucks performance. I also got the AF1 intake to go along with the custom tuning. I can only imagine how it would do on a truck with stock tires.

At the time,(deployed in Yugoslavia) I didn't know much about all the brands of chips and tuners. So it's when I got the performance combo and the chip came with it. There maybe something else out there that'll out performe it. But it's hard to say, because you can only increase ur air to fuel ratio so much, right?
If there was only a site or something official that would say who is the best. I think not, anyway. It is still working for me, and will think of hypertech if this one goes out.

I'm not sure if you made your mind yet but, I would go with the xcal2 and the airforce1 combo from troyer.I have an 06 4.2 so the AF1 is not avail. yet for me.I noticed a very impressive change in the 4.2 after the troyer tunes were installed and I would recommend them to anyone with a v6 or v8.Read the threads and decide for yourself.12,500 miles of driving joy after loading 93 perf. tune
