Talking My son, My hero

I was just finishing the second torque sequence for the intake, my arm brushed a bolt from the acutator onthe back side of the intake and into a manifoldport.
I saw it from the corner of my eye, I heard it go "plink" down in the intake port. I thought naaaa could'nt have gone in there, but I searched and searched around and was getting angry or ready to cry and went inside for breather. Then a thought ocurred to me and I asked my 9 year old if he still had those "button magnets" he goofs around with. These little watch battery sized magnets could pull each other around through 3/4" countertops!
I stuck one a 1/4" ID peice of clear vinyl tubing 12" long and began to "probe" Thank the motor gods the heads are aluminum. I tried each port and was still not getting anything out, when I tried the suspect port one more time really pushed the tube down in there and that lovely "pink" sound when something steel is picked up by a magnet happened.
Out came the little #$^$! bolt!
I went inside and told him I was his slave for the night, but that did not get him any more stay up time (it was a school night). He tried in vain to abuse the "slave" thing, but I was strong. Oh well, I finished up and the rest is my other post.
Just received the O2 sensors today and will fire up the heater in the garage to put them in. 8 degrees last night in MN.
Sorry about pics, how do you add them? Do I put them on a web host or something?

Wow! That is the best story have heard in a long time! How many times have we heard that going the other way? Having to take the heads off to retreive a bolt would be MISERABLE!

Sounds like it would not be a bad idea to have a few of those rare-earth magnets around the shop.

My son, on the other hand, would have poured his juice and cookie crumbs in their just to see how red I would get. Now I have to tell him this story and see if he laughes at me....

My 4 year old is my "extra set of small hands". If I drop it a small space, he gets it. We've got a pretty good working realtionship here...

Wink Magnets

Glad to share a good story! 'Tis the season and all that you know.
Pulling the head would NOT have been pretty.
Small hands are needed at times, when spaces are small that's for sure.
I still do not know where he got those little magnets, but they are strong little monsters! The magnet I used is now stuck to the outside of my tool box until needed again. (Hope not!)
Hope all is well with everyone.
:santa:
