4.2 w/ 225,000 finally drinks the antifreeze

I have read for years on this forum how the 97 f-250 v-6 was probably going to have a gasket fail. Either the intake or the head gasket ,and it finally did. I had a hardtime starting it the other day it seemed to have too much compression and won't not turnover. When it finally started it had a hell of a rattling noise in the engine and antifreeze was steaming out of the exhast. Are there any quick fixes for this from the top of the motor or will this require a new long block. I'll probably sell this truck after the repair. Any ideas would be helpful.
Broke down in Dallas.

Its time for a new engine. But,with that kind of mileage on the truck you're gonna lose money if you install a new engine. The engine itself can cost up to $2000 and another $1000-1500 to install.A 97 with that high mileage is probably only worth about $2-4k .Try finding a used engine, for about $750-1000 and you might just make a few dollars.Good luck and keep us posted!
