Just bought a new 2005 F-150

It's silver, the small v-8, power windows, door locks, 5 disk CD, spray in liner.

My son who is a junior in college will be driving it because his '99 Dodge Ram was becoming troublesome.

Should I change oil every 3,000 or 4,000? Any other recs would be appreciated too!

haha no problem, was wondering about that!

congrats on the new truck, you'll love it.

Ford Reccomends every 5k miles, with the 5w-20 motorcraft oil. If you ask me, I say stick with the traditional rule of thumb of every 3,000 miles.

Yes, the newer vehicles may be more effecient when it comes to the way they burn oil and Horsepower they generate, but I don't think the oil technology is quite up to date. So, in my opinion, this 5,000 mile recomendation may be a little more convenient to the average person with little to no time to change there own oil every 3k, but In the long run your engine pays for it, especially for an oil with not much of a viscosity.
