Question V-6 Chips

I have a question for you guys. If you had a strict budget of 500.00 dollars what would you buy to upgrade your 4.2? I have already got flowmasters, airraid cold air intake. I was curious about troyers chips. Is the 4 bank, or is it 5 bank chip for like 350.00 any good? Has anybody got one??

Get an SCT chip from Justin@ www.velocitymustangperformance.com

He drives a low 11sec Twin turbo v6 mustang. He KNOWS the 4.2. He tunes me and all of the my friends.

I just got a tuner from Justin at Velocity Performance Mustang and I love it. Just email him and he will hook you up. Email him at VMPerf2@bellsouth.net.

Question

Doesn't Troyer Performance write tunes for the 4.2L V6 that can be downloaded with the help of the Xcallibrator (for the '04/'05 F-150)?

I know Justin does. He worked for SCT, and was trained by Jerry W, mr Superchips himself.

Id go with the microtuner from Mike Troyer from troyerperformance.com He knows the engines, and his products have never failed me or the majority of the people on this board. DONT get a JET chip, I had one in a Ranger, they are junk.

sdf150guy, unless I'm mistaken, the only hardware compatable with the '04-05 F-150's is the new xcallibrator. Buying the xcallibrator is not the issue, the question is who writes tunes for it for the 4.2L V6? So far I've not heard from anyone about tunes for the V6 from troyer and only a couple people about justin at mustang performance. It makes me think I'll hold on to my cash for a while, I want the best bang for my buck, and I'm not interested in taking any chances with throwing my money away on a product that doesn't really make a difference. Would love to hear from a lot of satisfied customers, isn't anyone doing this?

Wink V6 chips

You know ya'll are right. Troyer has good things, and Justin has good things. But I think I will hold on to my green stuff a bit longer. Just invest in some underdrive pullies, and some good e-fans from e-bay. Then tires.

SCT has the x-calibrator flasher for all 96-05 Fords (and some 94-95s). SCT also has tunes for the 4.2s, which are made available to SCT dealers.
