2000 F150 question

I just found this site and got reading, after a reading a few threads I realized a lot of them seem negative towards the 4.2L V-6 engines. I bought a 2000 F150 with a 4.2L V-6 and I was just wondering if I have anything to look out for now, I change my oil regularly and dont beat on the truck at all. I think it just turned over 89,500 miles today...so if anyone has any advice or anything to look out for I would appreciate it

Keep a close eye on the coolant level in the reservoir bottle. Intake gaskets go bad on that engine causing coolant ingestion into the cylinder which can be terminal.

The gasket issue was mainly for the 97 and early 98 models with the 4.2. There may have been a few problems after that, but not like the previous years, unless something has changed. I've had 2 4.2L's and have loved them both.

another question i had is if anyone would have any ideas on the kind of price i could put on it if i was going to sell it. 2000 F150, 2wd, shortbox, good interior, 5 speed standard tranny, 90k milage, the only draw back is that i have $7,000 in stereo equipment i am taking out so it would have no stereo. im not sure if anyone is a price specialist person, but anyone with an educated guess would be very helpful. i have a 1973 chevy C20 that i like a bit more and wanted to see my Ford
