40 Series Delta Flow
Persoanlly on my v6 1994 F150 i have dual 40 series delta flow. single in single out. but if you dont want to spend $150.00 for 2 mufflers get a single in and dual out. you will love the tone its very deep and powerful. To make it even better, this might now be legal where you live but you can take off your Catalytic Converter, or just punch out the honeycomb to make it hollow, so if they cops look under they will see the Catalytic Converter.
I would not call the 40 series quiet. Go to flowmasters web site and listen to the different tones.

I love the sound. Not too loud for me, awesome sound at start up and let's you know if I get on it.
But I'm not much of a hot rod. Seems to me if I wanted a race car, I would not have started with a 4400 truck and a V-6!

I have the "Original" Flowmaster 40 si/do on my v6 f-150. It's very aggressive sounding at startup and when I get on it. But when I get above about 3500 rpms, it gets a little high pitched in sound. That's one of the drawbacks of having a v-6. If you go with a single in-dual out setup, be sure to use 2-1/4" pipes out the back. If you go any bigger, you'll loose backpressure at lower rpms which causes a loss of low-end torque. You'll gain a little hp in the upper end of the rpm band. And it helps gas milage a little. If you want a loud, aggressive sounding exhaust, go with the 40. If you want a little milder sound but still aggressive, and don't want it to sound too high pitched at upper rpms, go with the 50 series. I wish I would've put the 50 on mine, but I'm going to be trading my truck off or selling it to get a new one soon. So there's no need in changing it now. Hope I helped you out some.
dont worry i now the high pitch sound your talkin about i got a glasspack on my truck and when i get on it it sounds like a ricer...baddd!... so im probably goin to get the 40 series thanks for all the help..

You might want to consider getting a stainless steel flowmaster. It'll last alot longer than an aluminized muffler. I saw them in a jeg's or a summitt catalog. Just a thought.
