Should be able to just put a 3/8" ratchet (no socket) into the square in the end of the tensioner and pull up. Not sure where it is on the 4.2L, but it should be labeled in the belt routing sticker under the hood...
If you have ever in your life removed one serpentine belt off of any engine for any reason whatsoever, then you know how to do it. Pretty much every engine using a serpentine belt utilizes the same style tensioner and they all work the same way. I've worked on Frods, Chevy's, Saturn, Honda, Mazda, etc. and every belt tensioner worked the same. Kinda like the childproof cap on a bottle of aspirin, every brand works the same.
Breaker bar works best, usually longer and you don't have to worry about the ratcheting mechanism, be sure the new one is correctly on all pulleys, otherwise its will just destroy the new belt. An extra set of hands helps the most.............Also don't forget to post your "watch for flying ratchets" sign.
