camper pulling
just got back from a camper haul of about 1.5 hours and the little 4.2 v-6 did fine. i was pleasantly surprised! my s-15 jimmy with a 4.3 auto did well enough in power, but felt like you were stopping the 2000 lb popup camper with a skateboard. i was amazed at how the smaller 4.2 seemed to have more pwer, may have been the 5 speed manual, and the ride was much better, no bouncing from every bump and dip. my truck is a '99 4x4 5 speed 4.2 with 3:55 gears. i highly reccomend it for light to moderate loads
gad i bought the truck. now i can do some long distance camping and not have to worry about creaming some body because i can't stop or the transmission going out 300 miles from home.
I had a pop-up camper and my truck towed it like it wasn't even back there, then one day it wasn't.
I had driven about 400 miles that day, so there wasn't no use in going back and looking for it.
Actually, it was my brothers'. I told him I took it to a five day chili eating contest and he said he didn't want it back.
That's the only time that worked though. I told him I accidently farted on his chain saw and he still came over and picked it up the next day.
