What's the best air filter ?

I notice alot of you fellers put K&N in your truck but my Auto
Systems Tech teacher said they made one of his vehicles
spark knock. I don't know...I'm just a student with one more
semester to graduate.

Is that the best you guys have found ?

I have had a K&N filter and they are good. As far as on filter being better than the other, I am not sure. There may be slight differences of course. I am however talking about anything other then the cheap paper filters. But anything other thanpaper will be a better filter.

As far as a higher air flow filter causing engine knock? Maybe, but I have never heard of it before.

If you are looking to try one out, get it and throw it in and try it out.

I prefer to use paper filters, factory Motorcraft, over the K&N type filters. The factory filter seals against the filter housing as where the others kind of leave gaps. That lets too much dirt pass by. Also,if you over oil the other filters it causes havok on the MAF sensor.

The aftermarket gauze filters have greater flow. Complete kits have substantial gains over drop-ins. If aftermarket filters are comparable, buy one with the highest industry reputation.

You want performance then go with K&N. You want filter protection then perhaps Wix is a good bet. Or check out..
