I have the SUPERCHIP single program unit in my 2001 F150 4.2 V6...I love it. I took it out because of the higher gas prices and put itt back after two days...I won't drive without it...great acceleration, more torque, etc., etc. I also had a Superchip in a 4.6 V8 a few years ago....still a good improvement, but not nearly as noticable as in the V6...gotta love it

I would recomend the SCT microtuner. They have them for 4.2's now. It flashes your ECU and does the same thing as a chip. The nice thing is you remove it when your done flashing, you don't have to unistall it like your chip every time you bring it in to Ford if you're under warranty. You also have more control over the tuning. You can adjust it to 87 stock or 93 high output. And tune for specifics. It is around $415 which is not that much more than a chip!

The best answer is contact Mike Troyer! He is the Man for all your Superchip/Flipchip etc. Needs, He will work with you and tell you whats best for YOUR truck. He is also a Sponsor Vendor for F150Online..lol but even if he wasn't I'd send you to him.
