Question Engine temp. guage

Does anyone know which sensor control's the engine temp. guage. I have a 98 F-150 4.2, 60,000 miles. The temp. guage fluctuates from normal to high, and back down very erratically. I have already changed the coolant temp. sensor.

Cool

Hi jarrett03,the Haynes manual say's it is in the top of the intake,in the center, right below your throttle body. The one to the right as you are facing the engine sends the info to the computer. HTH,97fone50

Cool

Right on bubba thanks alot. I am really getting tired of watching my guage jump up and down. And it just happens to be the one sensor that is a real pain in the butt to get to.
