Will a 4x4 valance fit on a 4x2 bumper?

I have a 4x2 and I wanted to put the 4x4 valance on it (the one with the fog lights) can it be done?

Best thing to do is find a truck of the same year and take a close look and measure it. If everything looks good, then go for it. You could maybe even find one at a junk yard for a couple of dollars. The worst case is it wouldn't fit, but maybe by drilling a few holes it would. Hope this helps andgood kuck.

Well they all appear to be the same bumper except the lighting. Ford is telling me it wont fit (well my guy at the ford body shop). The truck was in a wreck (which wasnt my fault) and I wanted to pay the difference and get the 4x4 valance so I could have the lights in it and he was telling me it wouldnt fit. But I dont see how ford would change the bumber just for a valance. I dont think they did and I dont think I will have any problem with it I think Im just going to get him to order the 4x4 valance and if he wont put it on ill tell him throw it in the back of the truck and ill put it on.

Plus when you order an after market valance you dont have to specify 4x2 or 4x4 do you? I dont think you do!

Well I went ahead and told them to put it on my trcuk. The guy who is in charge of my truck doesnt seem to fit yet the people in the parts dept. said there is only 1 chrome bumper for the f-150s and the only difference are the valances. So Im getting the 4x4 valance (after dealing with the '****' that was in charge of my truck) but I hear it doesnt come with the lights (I didnt think it would) Any idea how much the lights run?

Thanks,
-Chris

Hazard,

Check out; http://www.ford-auto-body-parts.com/

Should be less than $75.00 ea. Make sure your valance has the bracket that bolts to the bumper to hold the Fog Lights. I don't think it comes with it.

THANKS....

I came across that site last night looking for the valance and didnt even think to look for the lights. I think thats them. From Ford they are $136.54 each here in Louisiana. I found them here on ebay for 100 bucks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33709 I think I may do those I think they come with the brackets (ill have to double check).

4x2 Valance price is 105.51 from the dealer
4x4 valance is 182 and change from the dealer
(if anyone was wondering like me)

EDIT: The ebay link says they come with the brackets...do those appear the be the right ones?

Chris, I did the same swap on my XL when I did the spindle lift. Got everything on eBay and the lights looked just like the ones you pointed to. The factory brackets are nice and strong.

Just though I would put the follow up to this question.

The 4x4 valance WILL fit on a 4x2 truck well at least for the 2002s it does. I saw the truck yesterday looks good just need to get the fog lights put in. Well I couldnt pick up the truck because the was a part in the bumper where the chrome was flaking off so they had to put another new bumper on, well the new bumper came in damaged so I have to wait for yet ANOTHER new bumper. LOL I havent had this truck for a year and its all ready had 5 bumpbers on it lol. I have had to make 3 insurance claims on this truck (none of which were my fault)
