Question 2008 F150 Lariat to buy...

I've been looking to buy a 2008 Lariat or King Ranch SCrew, 4wd, loaded, anything but green, and can only find a few for sale across the entire country. I can find maybe 10 or 15 that qualify with those minimal specs. I've found those online on the usual dealer, "cars for sale" websites like Edmunds, cars.com, cargurus.com, kbb, Craigslist, Auto trader, etc, in varying conditions, mileage, and options. There are notably more 2004s to 2007s and 2009s and up in comparison. Only 1 or 2 are worthwhile to look at within 400 miles miles of where I live near Phoenix. I see them on the road often enough. I might need to start stopping them or cruise parking lots and ask them if they want to sell.

It just seems like they shouldn't be that hard to find locally. Am I not looking in the right places? Is there somewhere special I need go to online to find more 2008s around here preferably within a couple hundred miles? Are they that coveted that whoever has them will never sell them? Are they being collected and shipped to mexico or overseas or something? If so, does anyone know of a contact that I can make to try to intercept one before its gone? LOL!

If nothing else I'll figure out how to enter a "2008... Want to buy" post in here and F150forum.com and see what comes back. I didn't find much in the 2008's even on these sites and the posts were from years ago. I might not be searching right or there just isn't that much activity on 2008s compared with 2004 to 2007s. I don't care much for the newer models since then. I have a 2004 that is starting to cost money to repair but I'd rather put the money into a newer 2008 if I can find the right one.

Anyways, I'd really appreciate any insight, suggestions, guidance, or criticisms if anyone has any info to reply with.

Thanks for reading my rant. :-)

I personally would be looking for a 2011 or newer to get away from the 5.4 3 valve and to get the 6 speed transmission.
