With the miles your truck is right on the border of being kept on their used lot or auctioned off. My guess is it would depend on what they already have on their lot. When you're buying a truck for some reason 83k miles just doesn't feel like it's still new. Your truck would be a gem on craigslist though.

You'll loose $10,000 as soon as you drive it off the lot. You could probably get a used 2012 FX4 for around $35K.

Yeah thats a giving not to mention that its the best selling truck so there are a lot of them out there. As far as a 2012 FX4 there is no 6.2 option. Im not into the ecoboost just something about a truck not having a V8 just not a fan never have been and never will. And seeing what a few guys have posted with the 6.2 for mpgs I would be getting about the same as I do now. But for the price of my build I could get a 2012 Platinum. Which I guess I havent thought of yet till just now lol. But with the low ball price from my dealer not sure I even want to go back to deal with them after that slap in the face. So much for dealer loyalty.

Put your truck on craigslist for what you want, and put firm, this price or nothing. I think you will have a good amount of interest in it since it's still the "new" body style. I think it will sell, being that it's well optioned.

maybe you should mention to the dealer that if ford trucks depreciate in value that fast that you might go look at chevys. the way to buy a new truck is to make a build sheet with all the options you want and give it to a couple different dealers and have them give you their best price on it. might also want to avoid the salesmen and go straight to the fleet manager to price it. after you get an acceptable price then hit them with your trade, tell them if you get nada trade value then we have a deal

Take it to Car Max and get a quote. They are usually pretty close to blue book. I took my old truck there and walked out with $1500 in my pocket that i used as part of the down payment for my F150. They don't obligate you to sell.
