1989 f-150

Purchased new in Dec 1988. Std cab, long bed. XL, 4.9L, 5spd. Came with a Texas / Oklahoma package that dressed it up to look like the XLT, no chrome tailgate, no carpet, no pw or locks, but AC, tilt, cruise, dual tanks, larger tires, 3.55 rear & special paint.

Only changes from stock have been to up-size the tires to 255/70-15s, add a drop-in bedliner and upgrade the sound system.

I paid $10,700 out the door. They were moving a whole lot of trucks in south Texas back then.

$10K even for 2004 Ford F150 STX Silver w/ the 5.4L V8 Regular Cab, Short Bed.

62K Miles.

Options
CD Player
Cruise Control
Moveable Steering Wheel (some actually can't move)
17" Rims
Bed Liner (Looked Brand New; not even any scrapes/scratches on the top stock part which is very surprising)

Paint job is 9/10....a few spots that needs buffing and one or two areas that might need touching up, but I do that myself anyways and it will look perfect so paint will be 10/10 soon. AutomotiveTouchup.com is great for that, but it takes patience to learn how to do it right.

Inside 10/10

Very Nice detail job done to it. All I had to do was Vinylex it, everything else was already done. Not a scratch anywhere and the seats though cloth looked new; no stains. Like I said I just sprayed some Vinylex on everything vinyl/rubber/plastic for protection and some Scotch Guard on the seats. I even pulled the seal guards up to check for dirt/water and it wasn't even dusty which almost made me think it had sound deadener added b/c that is the only reason to pull up the carpet and clean that I can think of, but that hadn't been done....yet.

Engine 10/10

Only 62K Miles. Freshly cleaned (Dealership had a VERY good detailer; my cousin and I used to detail cars and I respected this guys work; saw a few tricks I never knew about)

New Motorcraft Platinum spark plugs had been added at 50K miles, oil changed w/ Castrol Syntec every 3,000 or so. The carfax read like a how to guide to keep your car in good shape. This guy went way beyond safe which I respect. New K&N Filter, but that didn't matter to me. I checked a few things like the inside of the oil and transmission fluid caps (if they are crusty or gunky it doesn't matter how clean the engine is the truck has been abused) and everything looked great.

Additions
aFe Intake
Kenwood KDC-HD545U CD Receiver w/ bluetooth and satellite radio add-on
4 Kenwood KFC-C6893PS 3-way 6x8 speakers
MB Quart DSC480 4-Channel Amp
over 50 square feet of eDead sound deadening material
I found a Saleen grill locally for only $130 so I slapped it on....I like the black better than billet personally.

I also put some sea foam in the pcv tube, oil, and gas tank just to be safe....I normally only do it on 100K or higher cars and very little smoke came out so I was happy with that.

Upcoming
Some sort of one in/two out exhaust set up (still deciding)

Door Sill Protector's......right where you step and the door closes......left open and always, always gets scraped up on Ford's and for only $40 or so I love these things.

EDGE Programmer

Probably some black headlights or get mine painted....idk

Overall I think I got a pretty good deal.....I could've gotten a 2004 STX for less, but not in this good of shape. After a quick buff, one small touch up and some Collinite 476 Wax it will look new, both inside and out. Run and sound great both inside and out.

Dealer wasn't going less than 10K anyways.....I had exactly 10K on me on my trip to Houston for a truck (Texas is the car buying king...Dallas/Houston specifically).

I got the dealer down to $9.5K, but after taxes and everything it was just over 10K like 10,150 or something....I had to tell him look..I have $10,000 and that's it.....I mean I had like $30 in my wallet and my bank card, but I wasn't gonna tell him that.

Paid $7,000 for my truck in Jan. of 2008. 2003 model with 86k on it. 4.6l scab XLT 3.55 LS. Paid it of in June 2009.

Bought it from my brother, or else it would've cost quite a bit more.

Bought mine new in June or 07. Sticker was right under $40k. I just finished college and started a fulltime job so when I seen the truck I wanted it. I ended up paying right under $40k for it with tax, gap ins., and extended warranty. I took the 1.9% interest over the rebates. Not sure if it was the right choice.

2005 FX4 3.73 5.4 S/C with 6.5 bed

Bought used with 38K on the clock, paid $22,900 in Oct 07 with tax/title (got a great deal as gas prices were so high at the time)
Every option minus sunroof, leather, power rear window, backup sensor
Has 73500 on it now, no major issues minus TPS sensor going out, front calipers cracked, starter grinding on some starts

Don't know how much I have put into it for aftermarket parts...probably $7500-10K
