Post Overdive Shifting Problem

At about 50-60 mph my truck shifts constantly from 3rd gear to overdrive.. like if i step on the pedal it will downshift from OD to 3rd.. and after a minute it will shift back up to OD.. Whats up with that? Is that just something it does? Or is it a mechanical problem? ANyone have this problem before??

What you're probably feeling is the TC unlocking and locking. It's kind of annoying. When you let off, it unlocks and coasts and when you step back on it even ever so slightly, it locks back up again.

That's what it feels like. When you step one it it feels like a shift. The TC feels like that. Before it drops to 3rd from OD the TC unlocks. Unless you nail it then it not only unlocks but drops into 3rd. If it's doing that it would feel like it drops and the up shifts 2 times.

You can probably duplicate the feel if you turn OD off and cruise in 3rd at a much lower speed. That is I think. I've got an Expy with the 4R100 so it may be slightly different.

There are other posts that talk about the same thing. I'd say I'm 90% sure it's the TC. But there's always that 10%

Here's one old post. There's a newer one but my eyes are about to shut as I fall asleep.
