Post Transmission filter

How often should the transmission filter be changed? I've got 61,000 miles & have done the transmission flush, but I don't know if the filter has ever been changed. (bought used w/ 51,000)

hey Greenlariat
i just got my 97 ford 4x4 not too long ago and i just changed the fluid and filter at 55,000 miles but am getting ready to get new front and rear gears and since the magnet was pretty dirty i will go ahead and get it flushed and a new filter again at 60,000 just to be safe. better safe than sorry when it comes to my truck.
