transmission slipping from second to third

That's a common problem.

The solution is a complete fluid change. As the fluid gets old it will start to shudder.

I agree with Mark. Mine 1997 was changed at 33,000 miles and no longer was a problem.

Post transmission slipping from second to third

I have a 97 f-150 4wd with a 4.6 engine and a auto trans. My question is when it shifts from second to third it has a chattering feel to it . I know another guy in town says his does the same thing.H e has the same trcuk except mine has the off road package.When you stay on the gas hard it does'nt do this but if drive normal it does it evey time. Does any else know what I'm talking about.
