Post How many qts does a 97 automatic F150 4.6 take?

Hey all,
I recently took my truck to the dealer for a transmission flush along with the TQ convertor. Anyhow I wanted to ask. They said they did a reverse flush with superheated gel that cleans and flushes it out. They then called me later to inform me my gasket on the tranny pan was leaking and it would cost 7 dollars to get a new one. I said ok.
My question is when they do a reverse flush do they hafto drop the pan or do they hook hoses up to it and flush it that way?

Also how many QTS should my transmission take to refill if they flushed it? The work order i have only shows 5 qts but i see people say around 14 on this board but i want to be sure. Im afraid they may have just dropped the pan and filled it with a few qts of oil.
Any feedback would be helpfull.
Thanks guys!

Cool

Something is wrong somewhere...

The pan holds about 5 quarts, the torque converter holds about 7.5 and the rest is in the "System". My wifes Cougar (4.6 V8), when I pull the pan drain plug and torque converter plug it takes 13.75 quarts to refill (system holds 14 qts). Let's just hope it's a typo on the work order, otherwise they dropped the pan, put on a new gasket and sent you down the road.
