Unhappy "TCIL" flashing again.

Hi

99SC 4R70W a/t...."tcil" is flashing again. Tranny is shifting ok as far as i can tell. Fluid ok. When i push the "od" on/off button...tranny shifts ok. No other light flashing.

Does anyone know when the "tcil" is flashing..(even thou tranny seems to be ok )does that throw a trb. code that can be scanned?

Tks. for any info. OT

btw...last time it did this...tranny problem at same time "tcil" started flashing. May/maynot have a problem?

Whenever the TCIL flashes a code is stored in the PCM. That will be the starting point to find out what's wrong.

Hi Mark and others who may read...just passing on.

Tks. for info. Thats what i thought.

Was going to go to autozone...they can scan for any trb. codes, No chg.

TCIL...has flashed last two times i drove..nothing has changed in the way a/t shifts.

Today...tcil...not flashing. Drove hills/flat . rechecked fluid...o.d. (on/off) is working ok. So...decided to wait on a.z. visit.

I have schip...i need to remove before reading codes. Its my understanding when disconnecting the battery it will erase stored trb.codes. I'm aware of other changes that may occur when doing b. disconnect.

Question....About how long do you think it would take for a trb. code to be thrown again? This is based on..tcil flashing...before battery disconnect. Or...could code be stored even thou "tcil" not flashing?

I get the feeling i would rather have it flash ever time. Not twice in a row and nothing 3rd time. Going now for longer (local) ride.

TIA for any advice/opinions...OT

It will take as long as it takes for the problem to show up again. How long that is would be impossible to say.

Hi

Well...got 1/2 mile from house..."tcil" started flashing again. Strange how it works.

Gonna take chip out. See what happens with 'tcil' and how long it takes to come back on...then i'll go for scan.

Tks...OT
