I just bought me a really sweet 1990 f150, straight 6 cylinder, and a 5 speed manual.
I understand that 2 were made for this model, how do I know which one I have, (in the vin number, on the door???) and are both of them good dependable trannys?
Any info is appreciated.

 

I think there is only one manual transmission with the six.

You have a V6, not a straight six. Ford made the last straight six in 1998.

it is a 1990, and they made them until 1998.

There WERE TWO 5 sp manual trans for the 1990.

Anyone else have any advice?
