Question slow shift into drive when cold

Does anyone out there have a slow shift into drive when it's cold outside. I'm in Il and eversence it got at or below freving I noticed that my 2000 f150 takes like 2-3 seconds to shift into D. It goes into R normally no mater what temp. It doesn't make a difference if you go into R first then D or just into D. Any ideas?
