E4OD Shudder

I'd change the torque convertor quick. They are known for puking their guts and taking the rest of trans with them.

Do not use Mercon V in any year E4Od, or 4R100.

If you want to use synthetic, and I think that is a good idea, I like Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.

My 1994 351 Bronco with E4OD has transmission shudder when shifting into or out of Overdrive. I have seen recommendations to change the fluid to Mercon V type fluid. Does anyone know if this will actually help and does Ford OK this fluid in this year E4OD?

Question

I have a 97 E250 (5.4). When I bought the van it had the "trans shudder" and the dealer said it was the torque converter and he would relace it. The dealer replaced the torque converter and it still has the shudder (shifting to into OD at low rpms or shifting into drive at low rpms) any idea?
