Grinding/Vibration
Recently my transmission began making a grinding or vibration noise when the automatic transmission is changing from one gear to the next (around 45-50mph). What could this be? Has anyone experienced this problem?

The vibration is caused by worn out transmission fluid. Get all of it changed. A good way to change all of it is with one of the machines that taps into a cooler line. Many quick lube places and even Ford dealers have them. They are effective at changing the fluid, and that usually fixes this problem.

Mark Kovalsky, you were right! I changed my fluid and filter prior to getting your response, and the vibration seemed to go away. I noticed that you said change "all" of the oil. I did it the old fashioned way by removing the oil pan at the bottom of the transmission. Did this not remove all of the oil? Do you think that I should have let someone else do it with the special tools that you mentioned? Thanks for the input.
