Angry 97 Expedition stalls in reverse

I just traded my 98 F-250XLT LD 5.4L super cab for a 97 Expedition XLT 5.4L 36,000mi. It was just not big enough for two small kids. The problem that I have with it is when I shift from any gear into reverse the RPM will drop from around 800 to 600. When I am in reverse and start backing up w/wo appling the gas, 3 or more feet then step on the brake the RPM will drop to 200-300 or completely stall out. I bought it from a Ford Dealer and was told that the 30,000 tune-up was done. Also shifting from reverse to drive and vice versa seems to take longer than my other truck.
Other than that have been satisfied with vehicle.

Sounds like a valve or solenoid is sticking in your transmission. prognosis: not good, a fluid change may help, but a rebuild may be in your future. had a similar problem with a 95 f350 w/the E4OD.

Sorry
