Sorry, haven't looked at this post for a while. Yes the grill is from a 97 XL. You have to cut out the gray center but it is worth the end result.

 

Hey folks,
I have the notorius shudder, so when I take off the pan, should I install a shift kit or should I buy a chip? Doesn't sound like they will work with each other....or did I misunderstand?

about Sonnax valves
What you need to replace are some of the valves in your transmission with Sonnax valves. That should cure your shudder problem.
Also, you can run both the Transgo kit and the Superchip but some think it is uncomfortable. I ran them both for a while. I have pulled my chip for now but only because of the price of gas and because in the winter months I take it easy on the truck.
