Transmission Rebuild?
I've got a '97 F150 with a 4.6 and the auto tranny with 78k miles.
I got on the highway this afternoon and it shifted from 1st to 2nd like a charm, but when it shifted into third there was nothing there. It would downshift back into second & the RPM's when way up and then shift into third and again nothing.
I took it to the local "chain" tranny shop and they gave me a nice ($$$) quote for rebuilding it.
Anyone else had any experience with this? I'm getting a second opinion tomorrow.
