Question Transmission Fluid Types

Okay - I need a rundown on the various types of ATF that Ford automatics use. The owner's manual for my '87 F-250 (460-4V,C-6) calls for Type H ATF. What's so special about it? Has it been superseded by Dexron/Mercon III or something else? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Type H was superceded by MERCON. You should use a MERCON fluid in your C6.
