Limp mode E4OD
Was on the way home in my 95 F150, 5.0-V-8, when the OD light begain to flash (indicating a problem in the can of worms) It limped home where I all-ways back in the drive. The next morning I start it up and No Drive in the drive-way. I gave it a-little more gas and it creeeeeeped up the drive where I got it turned around and coasted down the drive to give it a look. It (the E4OD) has a strong reverse but no drive. With 140k on the vehical and given the rep of the E4OD I want to get a heads up before I get it to and by the dealer. Yes I have taken care of my investment with fluid/filter changes and check's well prior to serve due mile's. Any like Problems / issue's?

I had the same problem with my 94 f150 with a 351 and the e4od tranny. I believe the problem was not with the tranny. It was a problem with a loose ground wire on the back of the head.Im not saying that this is your problem but the "limp home" mode you describe is designed to allow you to get home or to a safe place even though there is a problem with the vehicle.I believe this is how the computer protects the vehicle from further damage with out leaving you stranded on the side of the road.
good luck

It could be loose feed bolts. They are located under the valve body. You have to drop the pan and the valve body to get to them. If they are not loose you'll need to either rebuild or replace the transmission.
More RPM and creeeeeeeeping up the drive probably wiped out a clutch. I think this particular trans needs to be rebuilt or replaced, whether or not the feed bolts are loose.
