Unhappy Please Help-Tranny Problem

I've got a 1998 F-250 L.D. eith a 5.4
My truck starting acting up about 3 weeks ago. When I'm going down the road below 2000 r.p.m. the truck will "skip a beat"-feels like the engine is missing, but it's not.Could this be an electronic problem with the torque convertor? The tranny doesn't slip at all and it will not do this if I have a load on it.Only when I'm barely giving it gas. I've had my tranny flushed twice now with no improvement in driving.
Any advice would be greatly apreciated. I have the truck parked for now.
T.I.A., Darrell

See threads relating to cleaning the mass air sensor.

Does your engine have fantom misses at idle too?

Trigger,
Are you sure its an engine issue? I suspect you are experiencing a normal condition in these drive trains. They set them up to deliver minimum torque while cruising steady state. So as soon as a small amount of incremental torque is required the torque converter unlocks to multiply torque. Happens in mine between 40 and 50 mph. This is where OD is engaged and there aren't enough rpms to make horsepower.

Y2K- Thanks I'll try cleaning it.And yes once in a blue moon it will idle awful at a stop light .I just cuss it out, take off,and it doesn't happen again for awhile.Do these trucks just enjoy you talking dirty to them?

Tiger- Mine happens in both drive and overdrive. It just started happening a while ago.I'm pretty sure it's a sensor, switch,or computer problem, but then again this isn't exactly my good old ford falcon!

I cleaned my MAF and the little sensor further up the intake tube. The problem is 80% gone. There's still a little shudder at low load-low rpm operation. This could possibly be normal I think. Thanks a lot for your help. Darrell
