Question Transmission gear ratios?

What are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and od gear ratios in the AODE transmission in a 97 F150?

I ran a search with nothing popping up.

------------------
97 4.6 F150, 1/8 = 10.885 @ 64.10 mph, 88 5.0 Mustang 1/8 = 7.191 @ 94.76 mph

Question

StrangeRanger, Are you sure about the 0.67 OD ratio? When I do the math for my 275/60R17 tires (30" diameter) using 0.67, 70 mph equates to 1865 rpm (3.55). My truck actually turns just a shade over 2000 rpm @ 70. That equates to approximately 0.72. I am just curious. I have the 4R70W trans, is this the same trans in LarryS's original question?

1997 F150 Lariat 4x2 S/C, Oxford White/Tan Metallic, 4.6, 4R70W auto, 3.55, Kenwood CD player, 275/60R17 Eagle GTII's on 17" ORP wheels, K&N drop-in, single Flowmaster exhaust, Ford bedliner, Extang soft tonneau cover, 72,000 miles and no slaps or cracks

After this weekend: Powerdyne supercharger, Ford Motorsports headers (can't wait!)

fordman3,

Your tire diameter is really not 30". It calculates 30" but on the ground probably an inch +/- deflection. You really need measure your roll out to determine actual tire diameter.

No, I'm not sure. Those are the numbers I found on the web, I found several sources for the 2.84 and 1.55 numbers, so I'm pretty sure they're good. If your tach is correct then as you say, the numbers don't work out.

275/60-17s roll at about 695 revs/mile. At 70 that would be:

695 x 3.55 x 0.67 x 70/60 = 1929 RPM

Running it the other way:

2000/(695 x 3.55 x 70/60) = .695 OD ratio

Looks like a 0.7 OD

Gear ratios for the 4R70W (which replaced the AODE quite a while ago) are:

2.84/1.55/1.00/0.70 and 2.32 in reverse.

You didn't ask, but the E4OD and 4R100 are:

2.71/1.54/1.00/0.71 and 2.18 in reverse.
