Changing Tranny Fluid
Since I've never done this before I thought I'd ask all the experts that are on this site. Would I be able to change the Transmission Fluid in my truck myself and if so, how do I do it? Thanks, -ZRracer

Yes, you can change the tranny fluid yourself. But, it can be a messy job. I installed a TransGo shift kit and I used one of those black rubberized pans to mix concrete/mortar to catch the old fluid. Also, there is a small rubber boot at the bottom of the bell houseing. Pull that boot and turn the engine until you see the plug in the torque converter. You can drain the torque converter and tranny by pulling this little plug. The service manual says not to reuse that torque converter plug so try to buy a new one from your dealer before you start. My dealer parts department didn't know it was there so I did not get a new one. You will also need a new filter. The pan gasket is reuseable so treat it wit a little care.
When refilling pour in 4 to 5 quarts, start the engine and let it idle and continue to add fluid until you get a full reading. Shift through all of the gears slowly before you drive it. After you are satisfied that it is full drive it and check one last time.
