Question What do you perfer?

What do you perfer? 4 Speed Auto or 5 Speed Manual?

I dont know how to "correctly" shift, but I would like the auto.

Stick IS the ONLY way to go in a sports car.
If Ford would get a decent manaul tranny I would want one in my truck.
HELLO Ford anybody there?

Agree 100% w/ 54reg cab. I DO like the 6-speed that the PowerStroke has. Might be nice to have a grandma gear in a F-150 though!

That Powerstroke 6 speed tranny would be awesome. It could easily handle the torque of the 5.4l and more.

Cool

Wife insisted on auto - couldn't tell her she couldn't drive it if I expect her to run errands occasionally. Besides, I'm too old to still be shifting.

myself i prefer stick, always have trouble with autos and they are expensive to fix. plus i like to think i'm in control of thr truck.
if pulling is a concern however you probably want an auto. it raises your towing capacity a great deal.

Well, to each his/her own I guess

I prefer AUTO in all my vehicles since for some reason I seem to frequent traffic jams!!! On some high performance models you get better gas mileage with an auto..not that this would matter! haha

In my 96 vette which I got used, it had an auto, the 0-60 was 5.1 seconds, with a stick, the time was 4.9 and you risked burning a shift...so I'm lazy.. but it is nice to be able to downshift to scream past things in your way! oh heck, sports cars SHOULD have sticks!!!! It's been one of those days and it's only noon. :|

If it can stand 500 lbs of torque than the 5.4L should be a walk in the park!

Cool

I gotta shift
Even in Japan, I had to have a car with a 5speed. Of course I had to learn to shift with my left hand but I loved it.

5-spd

got into it just to save a buck on a previous vehicle (Wrangler), so i got it on the truck. enjoy it, seems to be the best way to go on the V6.

also notice that the auto is one of the most complained about features on the F-150.
