Tina,

Do you mean Japan, the country, or is there a city called Japan?

I'll give up driving manual transmissions when they have to pry the shift **** from my cold, dead fingers. If a vehicle doesn't have a manual trans available, I wouldn't consider it. By the way, teach your significant other to drive a stick, she'll never go back.

I myself like a manual better. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I am a 17 year old male. It makes my truck more of a sport truck than a work truck.

The manual is sporty and the only way to go if you have V6

My overwhelming preference is for a 5-sp.

I like the control, the fun, and the more efficient (and simpler) drivetrain. People were telling me horror stories of getting stuck in traffic with a stick, but it has happened several times and wasn't a big deal.

After driving a 5-sp for a while, it becomes automatic. That doesn't sound right, by you know what I mean. After a while, your brain gets properly re-programmed and it's not much more work than driving an auto. And the fun is there when desired.

This is my first vehicle with a 5-sp, I'll never go back to an auto (unless my left leg falls off).

My dad won a trip to England from his work, and got to drive a Ford Contour type car at 140mph on the wrong side of the road {meaning left over there}! Shifting with the left hand, pheew, thats got to be hard{er}.

Thumbs up

Fast46Triton: Japan the country of course!! You drive on the opposite side of the road over there so I had to learn to shift with my left hand!! At least they dont reverse the gas, brake and clutch peddle If you want to see the world, JOIN the USMC I was in Japan for 3years and when I came back here I had a hard time keeping that HUGE truck of mine on the correct side of the road. It's not to funny when you turn into on-coming traffic in Wash,DC.
