Unhappy Need help, fast!!!

Well I got the piece I needed from Transgo to finish the install of my trans kit. Finished the install, added the trans fluid and went for a test run.
Well now it won't engage first when the selector is in Drive.
If I manually shift into first, it will then pull away strong. I can then go strait to drive with no problems. Shifts are crisp, just the way they should be. It will down shift if I kick it and run just right as long as I don't have to go back to first.
I can feel the trans down shift as I approach a stop. It will even down shift to first. Then as I give it gas, the transmission lets go completely. If I then down shift the stick to 1, away I go like no problem... ??????????
If I leave it in second, I can pull away in second without a problem.
Anybody have an idea whats going on??
I will contact Transgo tomorrow but can't do that untill noon. They are on the west coast...

I installed a B&M kit in my 4r70w a cpl months ago.

you're sure all the check *****, springs, whatever are in and in right?

i know there's alot to do, ya might have to just redo it, following all the steps.

i remember that 1st gear accumulator, the big spring one, was kinda tricky on mine.

i'm sure someone who has more experience in tranny diagnostics will help you out

sucks to do all that work and it not work right....

good luck

Well I am truely dissapointed. I followed the instructions to the letter. Watched each modification on the tape prior to doing it. Something is not right. I has to do with the position of the shifter at drive. Well I'll call it a nite and contact the Transgo people tomorrow...
