if you are shudderin' you should prolly just have the fluid changed and mercon v put back in...that would likely solve your tq clutch shudder...

I HAD PLANNED ON CHANGING MY TRANS FLUID ALREADY. I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO HELP WITH THE SHUDDER. MY TRUCK HAS AROUND 43,000 MILES ON IT.

simply changing the fluid and putting in the correct fluid (mercon v) will most likely take care of the shudder...

Your 99 having the drain plug is just one of those thigns you'll have to check. It's seems to me it was sometime in 99 when they stopped adding the drain plug (why? it's only a 29 cent plug).
There's several good additives
Lubeguard's Shudder fix seems to work for me (check out the thread 4R70W tc shudder or diff? I posted a link there)
I have also heard good things on Lucas transmission fix
Pro-blend trans additive
and some cheap Gunk Trans-medic stuff.

A fluid change and an additive should cure it, if not it's rebuild time.

Trans Additive

I just put an additive called "lubeguard' in my shuddering tranny and it has seemed to fix most of the shudder that I had. I still have some vibration going on in the truck but I don't think it's from the tranny. The bottle read like a snake-oil product (seemed to fix everything possible with the tranny) but the damn stuff worked!

There is a thread that was put up in here a few days ago and someone put up the link. If I find it, I'll add it to this post.

If you try it, let us know what happens with your truck.

my 99 does have a converter drain plug. you'll have to add some fluid, then run it alittle while to fill the coverter back up, and keep adding alittle at a time until it reads full

It was me that posted the link. I never got to see the bottle but the service writer told me what the product was and did.
Here's the link
