Guys,
You all seriously disappoint me. Three reasons why manual trannies are better than autos:
1) In this day and age, perhaps 50% of men can't drive stick shift. This means reduced borrowing of your truck by dumba$$ buddies.
2) The MOST important reason. 90% of women can't drive stick shift. This means significant reduction of girlfriend/wife use of your precious F-150.
3) All this gets done WITHOUT you looking like an a-hole. "I WOULD let you use my truck, but darn it, it's a stick shift."
Amazing how you guys can't pick up on the obvious...
